About the Artist

Born in Barcelona in 1966, Xavier Masero commenced his artistic journey by pursuing a formal education in painting. The artist takes pleasure in the struggle of forms to create and develop new ones. "The wound always aspires to a scar," he says to himself. With a resonance that treats the vanity of a journey, Masero's work is almost structural, skeletal; it remains true to the organic game that the world offers. His art oscillates between lifeless matter and gesture, balancing between the geometry that shapes the orb and the chaos that sets it free, scraps where spontaneous nature aspires to surpass the fateful struggle of life and settles into new forms, as if fleeing from Tempus fugit, the relentless passage of time.
